What is SDA?
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is a type of housing funded through the NDIS for people with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs, featuring accessible modifications and designs that enhance independence and safety. A well-designed SDA home enables better, more seamless care delivery.
How SDA Works at UCC
Our SDA homes:
- Are built with wide doorways, ramps, open layouts, accessible bathrooms/kitchens, and assistive technologies,
- Empower residents to live with dignity and independence,
- Combine accessibility with warmth—our homes feel lived-in, not hospital-like.
Who Is Eligible?
SDA supports are funded for NDIS participants who meet specific criteria: those with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs. Eligibility determination follows the NDIS SDA Rules and guidelines.
